So, we sat down to write our best putters under 100 dollars rankings we had a lot of fun since unlike most other golf gear articles where the advances in technology quickly replace and outdate older equipment the golf putter remains a bit of an enigma. I have known many who will only go so far as replacing the grip on their putter as far as a consideration for an update. Just the other day I played a round with the best player in my local club and he was using only a step above a mini golf putter as his weapon of choice. 

So, when we propose our best putters under 100 dollars, we are trying to give you options that will complement our readers various preferences the best. Our Choice

We debated endlessly about the which putter that would rank first in the best putters under 100 dollars rankings and ultimately since I was the one who was writing the article, I had the final say. Our debate actually was more about allowing a putter that comes in usually a few dollars above our $100 limit a mulligan and I felt the Odyssey White Hot Pro 2.0 Putter deserved it. My reasoning was twofold, reason one, that since that since this is not a new putter you may often be able to find a deal out there and squeeze under. And reason two, it is just a great putter and value at that price when looking at what you can pay for a putter today. 

To say this putter has been around a long time is actually an understatement if you consider this is the second iteration and the original being launched more than 20 years ago. The updates included a much more controlled and precise manufacturing process resulting in significant improvements in the insert and precise shape of the putter head. The putter now feels even better in your hands and you can feel be confident in how the ball will consistently come off the face.

I am a true fan of this putter and the Rossie was my putter of choice for years until I have recently moved to another Odyssey putter quite recently. Maybe it will show up on another one of our lists sometime in the future. While the Rossie was my choice the strength of the Hot Pro 2.0 line is there is a putter than will suit almost everyone’s game and preferences with about 9 models on the market. The weight shifts depending on the model between 343-gram head weight up to about 370 and some have adjustable weight options to allow for those who like to tweak it.

While there are still many buying options out there, I would recommend you do take advantage while you can since Odyssey has launched the OG line which does come again with some nice improvements but at a very different price point and most likely a different target audience.

Next up on our best putters under 100 dollars list is the Wilson Staff Infinite Golf Putter line. Like our first-place entry the Infinite golf putter has an impressive line of putters that will meet the putting stroke and preferences of the majority of golfers. With 10 different head options available it is the most robust entry on our rankings. There are multiple offset, no offset, face and toe balanced options to choose from.

There are two shaft length options at 34 and 35 inches being offered as standard. So, for those looking for something even shorter an adjustment would need to be made or another option considered. The loft is also a little more upright at 71 degrees than the Odyssey but well within the norm and putts comfortably. We shifted gears a little for our third choice in the best putters for under 100-dollar list as it is a specific putter rather than a series with multiple options. The Ray Cook Silver Ray SR500 Putter is up next. For decades Ray Cooks pedigree in the golf world was unquestionable and with hundreds of PGA titles to his putters credit the reputation is well deserved. Up until the late 80s Rays putters were the choice of many golfers but then one can only imagine that big business took the industry over by storm. Today’s big brands started to completely dominate the market place with sponsorship and endorsement deals making it tough to compete.

Fast forward another 30 years and the Ray Cook Golf Silver Ray SR500 Putter has brought the name back under discussion in golf circles.  It will not displace the market leaders but it is not indented too. What is does do is put a very affordable piece of equipment in your hands at a fraction of the cost of even some of the putters on this list let alone the premium putters on the market.

For a player starting out or a weekend golfer this is a great piece of kit. It is a center shafted, face balanced putter that will yield a lot of control over the putter face. This is especially helpful to those of you who are still working on consistent putter strokes and keeping the face square at target during contact. The 4 color schemes are a flashy touch that may be appealing to some individuals but really where this putter pulls ahead is you would be hard pressed to find a better putter at the same price. 

The biggest drawback is limited to the fact that since there is a single club head in this range those golfers who do not like playing with a reasonable large mallet putter will be put off right from the start. I do recommend that you try keeping an open mind and giving it a try since you might be surprised how well the Silver Ray SR500 performs in the end.

The next entries on our best putters under 100 dollars belong to the GS series from Mazel Golf. With three different putter head options, there are a few less choices available than some of the other entries on our list. While these other brands and models actually have variations, encompassing multiple parameters, such as the shaft alignment of the putter, the GS series variations are primarily focused on the shape of the putter as well as cosmetic color schemes.

The three shapes go from a full mallet type 2 ball putter to what I would considered a half mallet type in the GS3. Despite the difference in head shape, the overall weight between the models remains constant. Therefore, your focus should be what works best for your visual alignment as the primary concern and the aesthetics a distant second. Another common denominator for each of the three heads is their milled putter face. For a putter at this price point this feature was well received and we found after little time we were able to navigate putting distances with consistency.

The static loft is slightly higher at 3.5 degrees than our options and most of the target market will not notice the difference. The exception being if the golfer has a putting stroke with a dynamic loft that is extreme in either direction.  In such cases, most putters would need to be custom adapted to match their putting stroke. The GS series does not have a left side option so it is understood that it will not be a suitable option from the start for a certain percentage of golfers. At 72 degrees lie angle it is slightly more upright than our other options but again well within the standard norms. 

We understand that there have been some concerns about the wear and tear the putter shows after a short period. To be honest we cannot judge this as far as we tried it out over a day on the practice greens and out on the course. What I can say is that the putter is structurally sound and at this price point this is what should be the point of focus. 

The other key point that needs stated is to whom this putter is actually suited. This is not a putter for a mid-handicap player looking to take their game to the next level. This is a putter suited for the casual golfer or someone starting out. A golfer who needs a stable and reliable club that can help them find their consistent putter stroke. And the GS series delivers all of that while remaining a value priced option.

The last entries in our 5 best putters under 100 dollars comes from C. Carnahan Golf. Like the other entries on our rankings, we felt that it was more relevant when talking about best of lists for putters at a price point to put forward the line of putter than a specific putter since so much is left to feel. The putters from C. Carnahan Insignia line actually pushed this logic to is limit since there is a huge difference in each of the 5 models.

The loft, lie, hosel, face, balance and head weight are all varied across each of the different shaped putter heads so to say there is something for everyone is an understatement. What is consistent across the models is the quality and workmanship being offered at a value price point. While there are some slight differences in the individual prices, we have seen that each can be found within the constraints of our article. 

There is only a right-handed option available so again our left-handed golfers unfortunately will lose out. Each is offered in 33, 34 and 35 inch club lengths so most golfers will find something that suits their stance and body position. 

I actually stumbled on these putters by accident when I was playing with someone who was using the Morrison putter. It looked be a really sharp looking club and he swore up and down that it was the best putter he had ever used. I did not read to much into his testimonials but after giving a try that day it sparked my interest enough to go out and give it a closer look. What I was a completely surprised to see was just how long these putters have been on the market and went under my radar.

These putters really are not limited to beginner or weekend golfers and have a higher upside than many of the other options out there on the market today at this price. They wont rival the top end players in the market but if you give them a try you may find this putter in your bag for years to come. And this is why it has made it onto our best putters under 100 dollars list.
