Fall is here and wet conditions are upon many of us! If you are like us, the chaotic weather in many countries and regions may have already left you needing to stay dry throughout the summer months all too often. Our best golf rain gear 2021/2022 rankings is here to evaluate the golf clothing meant to keep you dry.
For many golfers rain is a nightmare to deal with. Not only is keeping clubs and grips dry a constant struggle, many golfers feel their motion constrained while wearing rain gear. For years I grabbed any weatherproof jacket from the closet only to get onto the course and spend my round thinking about not feeling comfortable. I realized that while the discomfort was an issue, the fact that my mind was focused on not feeling well instead of concentrating on the shot at hand was actually a big problem.
With this is mind a went looking for some rain gear. The focus, not only to keep me dry, but allow a full range of motion and comfort. Luckily I found the products that allowed me to navigate adverse conditions in a much better way. I promise you that it still has not made me a fan of playing in a monsoon. What is has done is really helped me adapt and be able to focus much more in wet conditions.
As with our other latest ranking lists, the best golf rain gear 2021/2022 is intended to be a dynamic list. We hope to add items as we get a chance to try them out over the next year or so. So you might want to check in from time to time to see if something new has come along. Generally, we concentrate on newer items that have more recently come to market. But from time to time if we think a product deserves it, we might break the rules. So, if you’re in the need of some wet weather insulation hopefully we can give you some help staying dry.
Galway Bay Golf All-Weather Long Sleeve Jacket
When we sat down to discuss wet weather golf clothing, I hijacked the discussion and made the Galway Bay Golf All-Weather Long Sleeve Jacket the first item up for debate amongst our group. I admit that I am coming in with a bias since it is one of two rain jackets that I go to when the weather turns.
I had actually given Galway weatherproofs a try based on reading reviews a couple of years back. So now it has now come full circle and now I am the one writing recommendations to other golfers to do the same. The new All-Weather Long Sleeve Jacket actually has actually jumped a step forward delivering an even lighter and more comfortable jacket without sacrificing the level of dryness.
There are currently two color options available, both being primarily black, which suits me very well. I don’t look to my rain gear to be flashy and eye catching as much as keeping me dry and warm this Galway Bay Golf jacket does exactly that. With waterproof sealed seams and zippers rain is left on the outside while the breathability of this jacket manages to stop you from feeling like a walking sauna like many lesser quality rain jackets do.
There may be trendier names in golf that people are gravitating towards these days and I have my fair share of those items as well. But I can tell you that I have no intention of retiring my Galway rain jacket for one of those anytime soon. So if you want a great waterproof jacket that will help you focus on the game at hand the All-Weather Long Sleeve Jacket is a great place to start.

Oscar Jacobson Preston Waterproof Jacket
No products found.
Oscar Jacobson’s moto of “fashion meets function on the fairways” is on full display with their Preston Waterproof Jacket. The simplistically sleek design is an immediate eye catcher. Everything from the branding to paralleled main and chest zippers just works. There is no doubt about the quality right from the first look.
There have been many Nordic brands making noise in the golf apparel industry in the recent years. A lot of this has to do with the infusion of slightly trendier and more modern fashion design into golf. Nordic design works very well as it promotes a sporty elegance with a fresh look. Allowing a departure from the reserved country club look.
The Preston is a lightweight fully waterproof jacket and backed by a 3-year waterproof guarantee. This already sets it apart from many options on the market. And it is re-assuring when the manufacturer stands firmly behind their product. The jacket weight works well in summer to fall conditions but on cooler days a warmer/layer underneath is warranted.
This Jacket was designed with golf in mind. It was not a waterproof jacket thrown into the golf market. Even for golfers who are big hitters the Preston allows for a full motion unrestricted golf swing. Velcro cuffs and elasticated hem drawstring make it easy to find the jackets perfect fit.
This is a great option for golfers needing to stay dry. It is hard to imagine any golfer who would not be pleased with the look and performance Oscar Jacobson’s Preston delivers.

Etonic Golf’s Waterproof Rain Suit
Very often you end up spending a lot of money on golf apparel to navigate through the elements. This time you don’t need too. Etonic Golf’s Waterproof rain suit will keep you dry on the course at a significantly lower price than many of the other brand named options on the market today.
Most of us associate Etonic with golf shoes. This is for good reason since they have been doing so since 1945 and it does remain their core market focus. Nevertheless, they have found success in launching some quality products into the golf apparel and accessories markets. This is another one of them.
There is a wide range of sizing options all the way up to XXXL so even the most robust golfer will be able manage the wet conditions. The waterproof inner score cared pocket also comes in very handy since we all have tried to write our score cards that quickly turned to mush in the rain.
Very often you find yourself messing with the length of the jacket sleeves. When too long they end up getting in the way of your gripping the club. When too short you have water running down your wrist, into your glove and very often the feeling of being constricted in your movements. Etonic has addressed this with their adjustable cuff design so you will find the right fit.
The zip off sleeve is another great feature. For those who like to keep their core dry but still prefer a completely unrestricted arm movement a couple of zips and problem solved! So if you are looking for a golf rain suit that works and keeps within a tight budget here is a perfect option for you.
- Seam sealed for waterproof, windproof, & breathable performance
